Samantha “Sam” Enos, is a Graduate Assistant with the Office of Early Academic Outreach in the Native American Science and Engineering Program. Her assistantship experience focuses on research activities supporting the Geoscience Research Project. Sam is Dine’ and was raised on the Navajo Nation. She earned a BS degree in Health Education from the University of New Mexico. Recently, Sam completed a Tribal Public Health Fellowship funded by the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion with their Healthy Tribes Program. She has experience in secondary data analysis, literature reviews, and data collection. Sam’s public health research interests include injury/violence prevention, maternal and child health outcomes, social epidemiology, health policies, and chronic diseases among rural and tribal communities. She is pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Epidemiology to make a positive impact with tribes.
