Samuel Rodriguez

Graduate Assistant

My name is Sam Rodriguez, and I am currently a graduate student at the University of Arizona. I completed my undergraduate degree in psychological sciences and am now pursuing a master’s degree in public health. My research interests involve working with minority communities to better understand upstream socioeconomic conditions and how they relate to long-term downstream outcomes. I also wish to pursue my PhD in Psychology or Public Health, again working with minority communities to understand personal identity and how that relates to a sense of self in the context of greater society.

I also participate in the University of Arizona School of Music, where I play viola and violin. I am involved in the Arizona Symphony Orchestra, and chamber ensembles, and regularly work solo repertoire. Classical music is as important to me as my work in Public Health and Psychology, and I hope to incorporate science and music together in the future.

I will be serving as the Graduate Assistant this academic year and looking forward to working with all of the NASEP folks!
