Native American Management Intern Program (NAMI)

The Town of Gilbert is proud to offer the Native American Management Internship (NAMI) Program to motivated and driven students who aspire to influence change within a community. The program is designed to provide management interns the knowledge and skills of a professional within a municipality. At the conclusion of the program, interns will have the capability to apply knowledge gained through their real-world local government experience to issues significant to Native communities and organizations.

Interns are given the opportunity to broaden the perspectives of Gilbert leadership about Indigenous nations and their histories. The program empowers interns to integrate concepts of sovereignty and indigenousness into projects and presentations, ultimately creating a receptive learning environment for Gilbert employees and the fellow intern. Internships typically take place at the Town of Gilbert offices during the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters and are 20 hours per week. with undergraduate students may be considered.
