The Native American Affairs Program supports education, open communication, community / social projects and other initiatives in collaboration with Tribal Nations located near Freeport-McMoRan’s active or discontinued operations. Here are some of the opportunities available for our Partnership Tribes, or those with which we have a direct relationship.

The company offers 5 different scholarships which include:

  • Native American Scholarship: One-year scholarship up to $5,000/academic year to students attending a four-year university or up to $2,500/academic year to students attending a two-year or tribal college
  • Cyprus Tohono Corporation Scholarship: Four-year scholarship awared to top two applicants attending a four-year public university in Arizona
  • Josiah Moore Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to an enrolled Tohono O'odham Nation member; one-year scholarship of $2,500/semester to a four-year university in Arizona or $1,250/semester for a two-year college in Arizona
