Given to students at a four-year school entering their junior or senior year. Students must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of one of the eight RMCMI member states and looking for a career in the coal industry. The scholarships are $2,750 per year and may be given for up to two years. The selected students are also offered an all-expense paid trip to the RMCMI Annual Meeting and Convention in late June where they have the opportunity to meet industry leaders and attend all of the technical sessions.
The Application period for 2024 is open! Application deadline is March 1, 2024. No applications will be accepted after that day. Interviews of prospective candidates will be conducted in March. Scholarship winners will be selected and notified in April 2024.
