Overview of the Application Process
Supporting Documents
Your application is not complete until the online application is submitted and all of the supporting documents are received. On the submission page, you will be able to enter your nominator’s name and email, counselor's name and email, and also upload your supporting documents. These include:
- Participant Application
- Application Essays [PDF]
- Transcripts of your high school coursework (unofficial will be accepted, but official may be requested after acceptance)
- Please provide your proof of American Indian, Alaska Native and/or Native Hawaiian citizenship (You will need to provide a copy of relevant state/federal tribal enrollment documentation or from the Ho’oulu Hawaiian Data Center or Office of Hawaiian Affairs)
- One nominator form [submitted online]
- One counselor form [PDF]
You need to have your parent and counselor fill out and sign the counselor form. Once it is complete, you will upload it to your application. - Copy of PSAT/SAT/ACT scores (if available)
Deadline
Priority Deadline: Generally in February
However, we will be accepting applications on a rolling basis until all spots are filled. Apply sooner than later to increase your chances.
Cost
NASEP is a free program that covers room and board during the summer program. Since NASEP is a year-long program, experiences throughout the year are also free. However, we do not cover transportation to the Summer Program in Tucson. We attempt to provide transportation to our events throughout the year when possible.
